holy cow, where did the week go?
instead of being a flake today, i’d rather re-cap events this week that made it a great one.
yesterday, i met with my web designers/developers and learned how to set up the shopping cart with our cool stuff. which i will do today. i also learned how to edit my site and add my content. after playing around a little bit, it’s pretty cool that i’ll be able to add entire pages if i need to in the future. baby steps.
there were a few kinks we found during the three+ hours i was there. first of all, they did not program a little, tiny part of the site known as ‘the contest’. it’s only the source of new signs for the company. mildly important. that along with some other boring details (like, um, can i please edit that yellow text box that appears on every page? you can only welcome people so much. duh.), are to be completed in the next 10 days to two weeks. finally, a real deadline.
i got some great ideas for grassroots marketing. some very cool ideas that i hadn’t thought of from friends, and friends of friends. and the husband.
a blogging friend of mine wrote a post that helped get me back in the groove. she wrote a great, straight-forward post on eliminating the word ‘can’t’ from your vocabulary. it helped me refocus and get my ‘fearless’ mindset back in action. it had disappeared for a little while and i hadn’t really realized it until i read her article. it’s back.
lastly, something cool happening tomorrow is pretty amazing. my cousin is participating in a half ironman. this is amazing because this is a girl who would plug her nose when we would swim in the summers. she was more into reading and sewing than sweating just about all of her life. this girl would not run when i would chase her. which, as you can imagine, was super fun for me. basically, i’d run at her, and she would just stand there. and then i’d either run into her or stop and stand next to her. either way, it’s not fun and looks ridiculous. and now, she has done multiple shorter triathlons and is doing the second biggest multi-sport race in existence. very cool.
i have to go with danny on this one. i have no idea who the other guy is, but he should have been tossed based on his uber bad hair, anyway. props, psycho, i mean danny.
also, check out my friend aimee’s blog, she’s doing some cool giveaways for breast cancer awareness month.
have a great weekend. it’s finally below 100 here. where’s my parka?
Thanks for the mention Erin
The site is looking fantastic – really. I can’t wait to see it all put together. What a funny video – I hadn’t even heard of this!
Danny drops the elbow on anyone that tries to dry-hump him!! I came across your blog today not knowing what it was. Seems like you have a very nice start up on your hands. Congrats!!
Thanks for the link!
Hope your weekend is going well.
It was actually worse than that. I used to cry in elementary school on track and field day. It was awful.
I guess one part of being an adult is conquering things that haunted you as a kid.
Thanks for thinking of me. I appreciated the well-wishes.
