here’s my question and basically the entire point of this post:
if a girl randomly decides to date another girl, WHY DOES SHE GO FOR ONE THAT LOOKS LIKE A DUDE?
i will never understand this phenomenon. in case you have no idear what brought this one, it’s called lindsay lohan and that terribly, incredibly, man-ish looking unattractive “girl” she’s now dating.
now, first, let me make something completely clear: I AM IN FULL SUPPORT OF SAME-SEX RELATIONSHIPS. it’s completely ludacris that there’s even an issue with same-sex marriage. and if you come around here with anything anti-gay or quoting the bible (fictional book), it will not get posted. this is my blog, so scram.
now, back to the issue at hand. WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN? why do girls go for other girls that look like guys? and fugly guys, if you want to get real. and i’m always about keepin’ it real. i just can’t understand this. it’s not like there aren’t enough options of good looking girls out there. we, as a sex, are good looking. we smell good. some of us exercise. we’re usually soft. i mean, what’s not to like? i don’t know any girls that don’t think other girls are hot, depending on the girl. the person lindsay is now doing, does not fall into this category.
and this is just one incident in a long line of many. anyone ever watch sex and the city? yeah, “miranda” decided a couple of years ago to ditch her boyfriend, who she’s got a couple of kids with, for a woman. well, she’s allegedly a woman. i’ve yet to see real proof. i would bet a lot of money that she’s got a Y chromosome floating around in there somewhere.
if you are going to go for a girl that looks a dude, why not just stick with a dude?
let’s take Ellen for example. she knows how to do it. well, now she knows how to do it. anne heche is not attractive to humans. but now, Ellen is with Portia, who is hot. jodi foster apparently just cheated on her longtime girlfriend (man-ish) with a film exec (hot). who can blame her? isn’t that why she’s a lesbian? to date hot girls? melissa ethridge? now with hot girl who had their twins.
i’m just so confused by this.
there’s got to be a softball team out there that can answer this for me.
I’d go for a hot girl myself (if I weren’t into penises – and fake penises just don’t cut it, sorry, I need a real penis, attached to a real dude, preferably my husband, this parenthetical statement got way out of controls, sorry).
Uh…anyway, maybe they like the way dudes look, but don’t go for the plumbing?
The things you say about women are true of most of us (we’re good looking, we smell good, etc…). You could also say that most of us like men (if the estimate that 10% of people are homosexual is accurate).
Gay individuals are already throwing a huge piece of the gender norm puzzle out the window. It probably doesn’t phase them much to ignore other pieces of what’s “normal” or “correct.” (and I think we all have a lot to learn from them on that).
Of course, people make the converse argument all the time: why are so many heterosexual women attracted to feminine-looking men (Matt Damon, boy-band types) instead of masculine-looking ones?
At the end of the day I think there’s one safe answer to almost every question: people are fricken weird. All of us
jaime, true dat. good answering.
