okay, after spending the majority of the day yesterday drinking libations in a friends pool and not seeing any fireworks (because it is 150 degrees outside with a slight fire danger), it is time to get my head back in the game. easier said than done for some reason this morning. we should make a new rule that holidays should always come at the end of a week. it’s too weird to get fired up for a two day run.
okay, with less than 30 days to launch this company, it was finally time to narrow down the signs we are going to use to start durtbagz off on the right foot, or bag, i should say. i learned something about conducting a survey: people that don’t know you tend to not want to answer it, even if you promise them free shwag. thankfully, i got enough responses to give me an idea of what people want. there were roughly 25 that people seemed to gravitate towards, and from there i have shaved it to 18. there will be 15 on the site at a time (in the beginning) so i still have three left to cut before we go live. i’m waiting until i get everything back from my designer to see the final products before i give them the ax. or we might do tees shirts with them initially; they’re too funny to not use somehow.
so here are the final 18 that will go down to 15 for the bags, but like i said, you might be able to get one of these on a ‘durt shurt’…i just came up with that. genius.
these are in no particular order:
- fat bathroom people
- pedestrian grabbing the butt of the ped in front of him in the crosswalk
- crosswalk with mullets
- biker going over a cliff
- wheelchair chasing a pedestrian
- high school ahead (with a school with bars on the windows like a jail)
- cave ahead
- snowboarder riding over fallen skier
- car pedestrian accident
- pedestrian tripping
- biker flying over the handlebars
- wheelchair pedestrian accident
- ‘not slippery when dry’
- falling cheerleader
- ducks walking downhill into open alligator mouth
- wheelchair going off of a ramp over a car on fire
- ‘school zone: watch for slow children’
- state bird
pretty cool. thanks to all of you who voted. when we get the bags printed, i’ll be shipping them to you. i actually kept all of your addresses…that wasn’t a hoax, jeez.
my partner on the bag/printing end of things and i were talking on tuesday about hooking up with a foundation or charitable organization to donate a set amount per bag/shirt from each purchase. we just started talking about it, but we’re going to work something out in the near future. when we are further along on that, i’ll let you know. it will be pretty cool.
happy 118 degree day.
