i’ve been thinking a lot about teachers, since they keep snagging Durtbagz to use for work. one of my friends even told me how she hauled her space heater in her Durtbag for her classroom, last year. that is part awesome, part sad, if you know what i mean.
anyway, since i’ve got some Durtbagz fans that are teachers, and since every Durtbag was a student at some point, i thought i should host a contest that we can ALL participate in, with the prizes being new Durtbagz gear.
why do this, you ask? well, because 1) the best stories tend to happen in the classroom, 2) because school just started back up again for most states, and 3) because the new Durtbagz site is going to launch at the end of the month and giving stuff away seems like a fun way to celebrate.
here’s how we’ll do it:
to submit your stories (teacher or otherwise): post it in comments on this blog or email me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org CLASSROOM STORY in the subject. i’ll post each story i get (on this blog) and you guys vote on your favorites in the comments.
i’ll give a Durtbag away to the winning story teller in each category (“teacher” and “the rest of us”). i’ll give away shirts and other fun Durtbagz stuff to each of the second and third place finishers. and if a “newbie” to Durtbagz wins, i might even give their friend that referred them some free swag.
(to see what you’re competing for, check out our Durtbagz gear here, on our Flickr page. the current website is lame and doesn’t do us justice. hence the celebration for the launch of the new one.)
how does that sound?
now, go spread the word to your friends and otherwise. you’ve got until October 1, 2008 to get your funny classroom story in to me.
and i’m warning you, the stories are going to have to beat my friend who used to teach in inner city chicago had a kid that would constantly crawl up the AC vent. so just know your competition.
